M.Joseph Sheppard Post Report 05/28/15 Wit And Wisdom Edition

It is becoming clear that Jesus is not returning because this worlds distorted values are now beyond even his power to fix
View entire article (if you have a strong stomach/sense of irony/don't go apoplectic at PC idiocy)

The redoubtable and insanely hirsute Tim Stanley speaks wisdom (yet again).

"Given that doctors have been exposed pre-signing abortion forms, I'd be doubly wary about "medical safeguards" on assisted dying"

As the debate on the end of life terminal care situation grows apace it is vital that conservative voices are heard on this tragic and challenging matter e.g."

Terminally ill lawyer wants to die on her own terms"

Ho hum-another day at the office "Clinton Foundation hit with racketeering lawsuit"

Nothing to add really as Teflon Hillary can do anything and the media will protect her.Imagine it Palin had 1/50th of the things the Clintons have-well it is unimaginable what the media would have done

A rare sight indeed amongst all the haters and media pontificators, some positive Palin commentary: From the 'Tea Party Command Center';"Sarah Palin, a very strong Conservative, may decide to run"

"Sarah Palin, a very strong Conservative, may decide to run, she has a very strong following. There is only one Sarah and the libs are scared to death of her, sort of like they were of President Reagan, I remember all the b. s. they were mouthing. They know she is formidable, she can raise a half dead audience to their feet cheering."

Hillary musings:

Hillary's"It was a mistake"on Iraq war vote is just for the rubes/shore up vote vs Sanders-Warren wing-fools nobody. She'd be Israel reliable.I 'd be confident a President Hillary would pursue a more vigorous anti-radical. Islam policy/pro-Israel than a RINO/novice GOP 9especially Rand Paul).

And..... the big question which, perhaps surprisingly, a number of conservatives have found no fault with-such is the state of the GOP in thrall to the Establishment:

"If Palin doesn't run "Conservatives To “Bear The Unbearable” And Vote For Hillary?"
The basic premise at the site is that it might be better for conservatives to have a neutered by Congress, pro-Israel Hillary than a RINO with a Republican Congressional majority who woudl bring in who knows what Establishment legislation which the Congress would feel duty bound to pass.

Just to balance things out:

And- a photo for the disgusting pig pen site 's Dan Weber to use for "snark"instead of the Palin hate pic's he runs

To the Obama Administrations shame:

Policewoman Kerrie Orozco's funeral. Policemen Liquori Tate, Benjamin Deen forgotten by media/Obama admin/Sharpton etc. Police lives don't matter?

Idiots on the left dept. (not "diluted")

Winner! tell me that Palin quote about Duggar kid is fake can't stand to exist in world where someone that diluted holds office"

And a bit of baseball whilst hitting the leftist media:

Ty Cobb, another victim of Hollywood's agenda has his reputation reevaluated.

"New book on Ty Cobb:"gives him to us incomplete but human, rather than as a myth served up whole."

Cobb praised black players, including Roy Campanella and Willie Mays, spoke out in favor of the sport’s integration."

And no matter how leftist nutty this stands the test of time on the pulchritude level (for which many sins are forgiven)

Barbarella..... sigh Don't care how nutty lib

M.JosephSheppard Report 05/26/15: Mary Katharine Ham's Apologia For Normal Women/Sanders Hypocrisy/Orozco Funeral (Who?)

It's Come To This Normal Women Apologize For Being...Women

Mary Katharine Ham has an article up at 'The Federalist'

"Mindy Lahari and The Dumb Loves of Real, Smart Women."
It is all so terribly, terribly sad. Conservatives are so cowed by the power of the media, leftist blogs, "feminists" and especially Hollywood/TV that what was celebrated, unapologetically, as normal in society has to be, apologetically, justified.

After a brief review of the background and characters  to and in  "The Mindy Project" with the compulsory angst displayed:
Maybe I won’t get married you know? Maybe I’ll do one of those ‘Eat Pray Love’ things. Ugh, forget it, I don’t want to pray. I’ll just die alone.”

"That’s Mindy Lahiri, titular character of “The Mindy Project” in the show’s pilot" Ham goes into a deep analysis what drives the main character e.g.
 "Mindy Lahiri Embodies Female Complexities
One, because she’s funny, but also because she represents a kind of woman I know in real life but don’t often see on television.
Mindy graduated medical school and obsesses over the intricacies of Drake’s feud with Tyga.

She is a partner at a Manhattan obstetrics practice and watches “Maid in Manhattan” when it pops up on basic cable. She wants to start her own fertility clinic, and she’d definitely live-tweet “The Bachelorette” with you over cheese fries. She is, without a doubt, a strong, independent career woman.

She also unabashedly longs for a husband and a family and is not shy about pursuing them. A stylish make-up artist and small business owner, she explained that she needed to leave shortly after finishing my make-up for a TV appearance. “I’m ashamed to say why I’m running home.”“You’re going to watch ‘The Bachelorette,’ aren’t you?”“Yes!” she said, visibly relieved by my lack of judgment.

This Monday-night appointment viewing is so common among my professional woman friends, I was unsurprised by my correct guess even if she was.“[It] draw[s] me in and I’m not ashamed of that.

It’s a way of turning off my brain. If there were one thing I’d wish for myself and my fellow professional friends, it’d be a little bit more of Mindy’s certainty that her embrace of the campy, the romantic, even the traditional, are not a betrayal of her liberation but a complement to it."

Why should a woman "unabashedly" long for a husband no matter what her accomplishments or station in life? Is not wanting a husband, having children so natural and normal on an evolutionary, society enhancing (and surviving) "norm" that it should not need any justification whatsoever on the part of the overwhelming number of people who have such a desire?

Why on earth should an individual, no matter at what intellectual and career level have to justify, or worse, feel guilty (“I’m ashamed ") about their choices in entertainment?

As Ham describes, men can be kings of the universe yet watch endless hours of sport without anyone batting an eye. Why then should women hold themselves to a different, apologetic standard.

Cleary one of the major victims of the radical feminist brigade are actually the "strong, independent career" women" who are supposed to epitomize the aims of the radical feminists themselves. It is beyond irony.

Vermont Senator Sanders launched his presidential campaign. I'm not going to decry it, or call it quixotic or doomed etc etc.

He has a point of view and good luck to him in his campaign to express what I don't doubt are sincerely felt considerations and emotions. Not everyone on the right or liberal left has all the answers and history has shown that what were considered extreme positions have often entered the mainstream.

What his campaign launched has exposed however is the utter hypocrisy of the "progressive' left. they are falling all over themselves in ecstasy as "Bernie Sanders" is in the top "trending" on Twitter.

If Palin had announced they would be foaming at the mouth , raging about her ideas and ideals and calling her every name under the sun whilst dismissing her campaign as 'quixotic, hopeless, a waste of time, an addition to the clown car and etc.

The only space available for radical ideas is, clearly, on the far left where tolerance is limited to their echo chamber. "Progressives' are a blot on the intellectual landscape in a far country where ignorance and intolerance are the ruling forces.
"Solemn tributes for Kerrie Orozco at services, on streets "

"Who" Do you ask? An unanswered question as far as the media, radical left, Obama administration Al Sharpton etc are concerned.

Officer Orozco, a young mother who had just had another child was gunned down in the course of her duty. No outrage, riots, Obama administration comments ensued.

Here are the elective/government mourners at the funeral-there are significant omissions;

Among those attending the funeral were Gov. Pete Ricketts and his wife, Susanne Shore; Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad; U.S. Sen. Ben Sasse; U.S. Rep. Brad Ashford; Mayor Jean Stothert; Police Chief Todd Schmaderer; members of the Omaha City Council; and Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson.

"A saddened, solemn community folded Officer Kerrie Orozco into its embrace Tuesday before letting her go.

Hundreds of family members, friends and colleagues in blue attended Orozco’s funeral at St. John’s Catholic Church at Creighton University.
And Orozco’s fellow citizens lined her funeral procession route from downtown Omaha to her final resting spot in Council Bluffs to show respect for her service."

R.I.P Officers Orozco,Tate,Deen
An Omaha police officer and a suspect were shot and killed after a confrontation at North 30th Street and Martin Avenue just before 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Is A Church That Performs Same-Sex Marriage A Christian Church Or A New Sect Based On "Another Gospel"?

Is a church that performs same-sex marriage a Christian church or a new sect? It is beyond argument that to be a Christian is to follow the Gospel, any other church basis is following, as the gospel itself states

A church based on non-Gospel writing is not, by definition and as St. Paul states vehemently, a Christian church, it may be related to Christianity as an organization but it is a new sect.

What does the Gospel advise regarding homosexuality, both male and female? Joe Paproki at
"Busted Halo", a site that describes itself as "an online magazine for spiritual seekers" writes:

"Was St. Paul homophobic? Some people come to that unfortunate conclusion when reading some of his writings about homosexuality such as Romans 1:24-271Corinthians 6:9-10; and1Tim 1:10

In particular, it must be noted that, in the Greco-Roman world of which Paul was a part, it was not uncommon for boys or young men to be kept for the purposes of prostitution. When Paul refers to “Sodomites” (1Cor 6:9), he is referring to those adults who used such boys for their own sexual indulgence.

Likewise, Paul’s references to these types of acts must be seen within his more general warnings against any kind of sexual promiscuity. In essence, Paul is warning about any actions that will lead to sexuality becoming idolatrous – i.e. people seeking their ultimate joy and meaning in sexuality per se.

Paul’s references to homosexual acts were not particularly controversial to early Christians who knew that the holiness code of Leviticus forbad homosexual acts (Leviticus 20:13). Paul was merely reaffirming that which was held by faithful Jews and early Christians.

We have no evidence that there was a movement afoot in Corinth to press for wider acceptance of same-sex activity. Paul does not single out homosexuality but refers to it within a list of other acts that were accepted as idolatrous but were now to be left behind by those who had chosen Jesus. So, although is not homophobic, he is clearly against any form of homosexual activity.

Based on Scripture, the Catholic Church teaches that “homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered” and “contrary to natural law.” (CCC 2357) At the same time, the Church teaches that people with homosexual tendencies “must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity” and that any sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided.” (CCC 2357)
In Romans 1:26/27 Paul states:

"Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another".

This is the gospel reference to marriage-it is
very clear any departure from it is non-Gospel thus "another Gospel."

The Catholic Church on the subject:
2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,141 tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."142 They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition. 2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.

III. THE LOVE OF HUSBAND AND WIFE 2360 Sexuality is ordered to the conjugal love of man and woman. In marriage the physical intimacy of the spouses becomes a sign and pledge of spiritual communion. Marriage bonds between baptized persons are sanctified by the sacrament.

The further question is does the state have the right to force a church to perform same-sex marriages on the 'anti-discrimination grounds that is forcing e.g. bakers to make cakes for same-sex weddings?
The first amendment to the Constitution seems to indicate it does not:

"The first amendment to the US Constitution states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

That being the case could e.g. a baker change his business to being a legally registered religious organization and then refuse to bake cakes for whomever he wished?

M.Joseph Sheppard Post Report 05.23.15;NYTimes Swoons Over Rubio/Gallup Has Obama Best Favorabilty in 20 Months (Yeah Sure)

Gallup has screaming headlines;

Obama Favorable Rating Up, Best Since September 2013"

Which it tempers with

"A president's favorable ratings (at 53% marks the president's highest score since September 2013 when it was 58%) are distinct from approval of his performance; " which is now 46%"

It is now 42% which makes Gallup's paean look a bit weak at the knees and which just illustrates the hostage to fortune that polling represents (as was seen in the disastrous for the polls UK election.)

What all this means, apart from Gallup trying to make President Obama look good during a terrible foreign policy disaster week is the public can clearly separate Mr.Obama's job performance, which they dislike, from the person, whom they like, albeit with a degree of fluctuation as events come and go.

There would be little doubt that most would view the Obama;s as lovely neighbors (if one had access,as Obama did, to a felon like Tony Rezco who could smooth ones path to buying the neighboring property) and President Obama as a personally charming and warm individual. But, as the two polls clearly show, the majority would prefer it if he wasn't running the country.

Another reason for The President's personal popularity rise is, I have little doubt, that he became effectively a lame duck from the 2014 mid-terms onward.

Since there is little that Obama can do in the legislative world, and even foreign policy has become neutered to a degree as per the Iran nuclear deal now having to get Congressional approval, so there will be less and less he can be involved in that is contentious.

Essentially the president has assumed the "mourner-in-chief" role during disasters that neutered politicians can fall back on to lift his profile now and then, which would of course lift the"feel good" polls further for him. On the other hand, should the economy go into recession again then he would see all his polls, both personal and job-wise plummet.

Prior to becoming a lame duck effectively, President Obama has gifted the Republicans with near unprecedented control over every other legislative grouping in America. This has given him basically a two year period of a faux "Pax Americana" and an easy time compared to his halcyon days, but at a terrible cost to the Democrats.

"The GOP picked up nine Senate seats and will hold 54 seats in that chamber in the next Congress, to the Democrats’ 46. The Democrats’ Senate loss represented the biggest in the chamber that any president’s party had suffered since 1958, during Dwight Eisenhower’s second term.
In the House, the GOP will hold 247 seats, the largest majority the Republican Party has held since 1931.

Republicans picked up 11 legislative chambers this year and now control 68 of the nation’s 98 partisan chambers on the state level, the highest number in the party’s history. In all, Democrats have lost more than 900 seats in state legislatures during Mr. Obama’s time in office. But the full measure of the Republican gains—and the Democratic collapse—comes from looking down-ballot, where the GOP also made sweeping advances.
After the 2008 election, 28 of the nation’s governors were Democrats. Now, only 17 are. After the 2008 election, 31 state attorneys general were Democrats. Now, the party has 23."

The New York Times Swoons, Swoons, Swoons Over Rubio

We've been here before of course. The liberal media picks a “safe” Republican candidate-see McCain, John, and treats them with respect during the GOP primaries.

Then, if they get the nomination, it is straight into character assassination of the lowest kind from even the most respected places. Once McCain secured the GOP's nomination and, after the very successful Palin driven post convention surge, The New York Times headlined the most scurrilous article about an alleged affair between McCain and lobbyist which had absolutely no foundation. So much for the above it all New York Times.

But even for the classic scenario being sketched out the praise, or rather Paean to Marco Rubio The Times had dredged, up beats all previous such hymns of praise ever seen. The hyperbole is beyond parody, and the obvious set-up for a fall is so blatant, that any journalist worth their salt would be embarrassed to tears.

Fortunately such a vision looks like it will soon disappear (if it ever existed of course) as the days of political journalists are ending, and their influence is fast disappearing into the realm of social media, who don't give a toss what they think-especially as they are so often wrong. See “Why 2016 Marks The Death of
The Political Campaign Reporter.”

In an article by Jeremy W. Peters The NYT has this to say about Rubio:

A Hillary Clinton Match-Up With Marco Rubio Is a Scary Thought for Democrats”

They use words like “historic” and “charismatic,” phrases like “great potential” and “million-dollar smile.” They notice audience members moved to tears by an American-dream-come-true success story.

He’s energetic, he’s photogenic, “
Young women swoon, old women pass out, and toilets flush themselves. “

"And Mr. Gelber himself recalled the day in Tallahassee, Fla., in 2008 when he and Mr. Rubio, then the speaker of the State House, gave their farewell speeches. He spoke first, followed by Mr. Rubio, as Mr. Gelber’s wife looked on.

She’s sitting there weeping,”

He should be the one you don’t want to face,”

Of course Rubio is a first term senator of little national exposure and the dirt digging machine hasn't even scratched the surface, but you can bet that if he gets the nomination articles like Mr. Peters will vanish instantly.

The “Death of the 2016 reporter, and the hypocritical liberal media, can't come soon enough.
