The Last Post.

This will be the last post for this site and my Governor Palin commentary site
   "Palin4president2016"

After 6 years of activism for the conservative point of view, and especially having had the honor of discussing Governor Palin I am retiring. I have had a lifetime of political activity at various levels, an have been a published author on political economy, a president of a political party I well know that there comes a time when the field should be left to those who are younger.

I don't regret a moment of my spirited support for Governor Palin and in another age, and  in a young mind and body, my support for George McGovern! I was right then and am right now as history showed and will show.

These six year shave been amongst the most creative, productive and interesting of my life-I've made countless happy interactive connections and heard views that have added to my store of knowledge and insight-I'd do it all over without hesitation. What has been a profound revelation was to see that so many people get up in the morning with the intention to hate someone they have never met one can't help but to reflect with pity.

I am dedicating my time to promoting my wife's new book;
LINK:   "The Shining Hours"

and am undertaking a work of my own which experience has shown has to have full dedication. As for Governor Palin, I made it clear that this site was always about promoting her as the GOP nominee but, if circumstances or her own decision precluded that, the title of this blog could just as well be "Palin in The Presidency 2016" as it is her ideas and ideals that are at the core of my support which ideals transcend the person. I set this out some time ago in a post reproduced below.

I will leave the two sites up as I note that many people search for and read the older articles, and there are some university studies that show Governor Palin was a plus for the McCain campaign which can be of value to rebut critics.

To the +700,000 people of goodwill who viewed the two sites my sincere thanks and to those, and of course to Governor Palin and her family I extend my best wishes and regards

Palin-ism In the Presidency

Subsequent to the Los Angeles Times major article proposing Sarah Palin as "the Cure" for the GOP and it's suggestion that Palin may be an ideal candidate for 2016
there have been howls of derision from the left.

That is to be expected in Los Angeles of course, the unexpected however was the article itself. Amongst the huge number of leftist criticisms was a recurring theme that has been running for two years now. It has numerous variants, but in sum if runs along these lines "Palin is an egotist/She will drag out the "will she won't she" run game for four years whilst getting suckers to send her money" and suchlike.

Leaving aside that the decision to run for president is a momentous one, not only for a candidate but for their family.

As Palin knows, probably more than anyone. A merciless and unfair blowtorch is immediately focused on the candidate and anyone associated with them. Thus if Palin takes a long time to come to a decision, only a poltroon would condemn her for that.

The arrogance of the left is such that they consider that anyone who supports Sarahpac financially is a dumb sucker.

Obviously Palin supporters are well aware she may not run when they send money to Sarahpac. They do know that the money will go towards supporting candidates for office that Palin approves of. They also know it will not go towards "supporting Palin's extravagant lifestyle" and other such childish leftist idiocies.

Those who support Palin obviously would like her to run, but we obviously know that she may not. When we support her, in the media, or financially, or on the ground when her chosen candidates run we are supporting Palin-ism. Obviously we would like to see Palin-ism put in to effect by Palin herself, but if that is not to be, then seeing it effected by people she supports will also do. For us it is money and time well spent.

The leftist cynics can simply go to hell.

I addressed this matter before the Los Angeles Times article and reproduce it below as a supplement to the new commentary above.

This site is not absolutely about Sarah Palin regardless of the Blog title. Of course I, and I am sure a massive number of others, judging by her Facebook followers being over 3 million, would wish her to run in 2016.

But Palin is only one person, and a person with massive family commitments, especially with Trig of course. It may be that she has developed a taste for the freedom from financial constraints and from media criticism worries, and is happy to enjoy the rest of her life in comfort and ease.

If so, good for her. Surely nobody else in public life has endured the slings and arrows of outrageous leftism over the last four years and would be entitled to such a respite as her skills and endurance has gained for her.

There are of course many options for public involvement open to her. She will be in demand as public speaker for some time yet as an historic figure at least.

The currently Dem. held Alaskan senate seat is up for election in 2016, and of course she can continue endorsing and campaigning for candidates she considers it important to do so. Her influence as an endorser is undiminished as e.g Ted Cruz in Texas will testify.

But even if none of these options appeal to her (which I doubt) this blog would change from Palin4President2016 to "Palinism In The Presidency 2016". No matter how great or influential and correct a person's political, social and economic  ideas and ideals are, they will outlive their originator if they have lasting value.

The "common sense conservatism" policies that Sarah Palin espouses and exemplifies, are lasting if not timeless and will be her legacy no matter what her personal future holds. An outline of  what she, and this site stands for are
AT THIS LINK

In the meantime, unless or until Palin herself  advises she will cease any activism which might lead her to make a run for office, the blog title will stay as it is. Should she decide to leave the political scene then a simple change of emphasis from the person to the policies the person espoused will suffice.

Could The GOP Fall One Agonizing Vote Short In 2016? But Demographics To Change All From 2020

This article is also at THE AMERICAN THINKER  LINK

Putting aside the prospect of an Hillary Clinton candidacy for the 2016 presidential election, the GOP has an extremely hard row to hoe, or needle to thread if that analogy suits the situation, in the Electoral College.

If on election night 2016 the early returns show that Florida has gone for the Democratic candidate, that would be an indication of an early night for Republicans as there are no realistic Electoral College permutations that would give the GOP candidate a victory.

With Florida won and out of the way, all the “Romney” states won in 2012 also have to be won and Ohio, that classic balance tipping state tipping into the Republican column. But even with Ohio on board the big problem for the GOP candidate is Virginia. If the influx into Northern Virginia which, allied to the increase in minority turnout for Obama, means that the state is now firmly in the D column then the path to the required 270 Electoral College votes appears doubtful if not impossible.

The best the Republican candidate could do without Virginia, and with both Colorado and Iowa, two states that went solidly for Obama in 2008/12 wrested back is 268 Electoral College votes. This heartbreaking, desperately close result, would actually be one vote short as at 269 votes apiece the tie would be decided by a majority of state delegations in the House of Representatives (presumably with a Republican majority in 2016 as there is currently).

At this writing, both Iowa and Colorado are looking positive for the GOP but, apart from a significant economic downturn, it is an huge ask for those two states plus Ohio, plus one from New Mexico, Nevada, Michigan, or Wisconsin to end up in the Republican column.

Of course Virginia might swing back to its historic home in the red state column, or Michigan might continue on its apparent swing to the right, but these are very difficult challenges for the GOP machine.

These difficulties might be addressed by having a Southwestern governor like  Susana Martinez on the ticket which could put both Nevada and her home state of New Mexico in play, or similarly,  Governor Snyder of Michigan, presuming he is re-elected this year,or Governor Walker of Wisconsin as the presidential candidate. However, failing the needle being threaded and these required, and frankly, long-shot states being won it may be that population drift will eventually come to the GOP's aid.

After the 2010 census there was a  net gain to the Republicans of 6 Electoral College votes as the population movements from the Northeast assisted the growth of Texas and Florida in the Electoral College. If, as seems likely, the April 2020 census gives a further net gain of 1, or even better for the Republican prospects, 2 Electoral College votes, then Virginia can stay in the Dem's column and the GOP can win a squeaker in 2020, if the census can be tabulated in time for the election. If not 2020 then 2024, and quite possibly numerous elections well into the future.

Projections in an Harvard study are for Arizona, Florida, Nevada and Texas to have the largest population growth which, if the GOP attracts some growth in its Hispanic support may be enough to ensure its long term success or Texas by itself may ensure it.

"Tea Party Black Woman Lisa Fritsch,Wants Texas Governorship";GOP Has Best, Best Looking, Female Candidates From All Races/Nationalities

Not only does the GOP have the best candidates, the best Black candidates but also the best looking female candidates of every race and nationality. Added to the list is Lisa Fritsch who is, according to Tea Party Nation LINK challenging for the GOP nomination for the governorship of Texas. Attorney General Greg Abbot may have more of fight on his hand than he will versus Dem Wendy Davis if he is the nominee but as Governor Palin says this sort of competition makes the GOP stronger and is to be welcomed.

Texas Politics Heats Up! Lisa Fritsch, Tea Party Black Woman, Wants Governorship

Lisa Fritsch, Tea Party Black Woman, Wants Governorship
They do things big in Texas, so when a conservative black woman tosses her hat in the ring for governor, Texans stand up, notice and signal change for the rest of the nation. Lisa Fritsch, a popular former radio show host and noted conservative Texan Tea Party activist is making growing political waves in her bid to take out current Attorney General Greg Abbott in the Republican primary for governor.
Fritsch is part of a growing number of black conservatives vying for elected office across the nation like former Miss America Erika Harold, who is running for the 13th Congressional seat in Illinois.
Then there was of course Mia Love who electrified the National Republican Convention in 2012 with her speech, according to the Huffington Post. Love, mayor of Saratoga Springs, Utah, is a Mormon, Tea Party favorite and appears poised to run against current Democrat congressman Jim Matheson.
Lisa Fritsch, Charles Lollar and Mia Love all embody the clarity of spirit and purpose that has awakened a resurgence of conservative values in others. They openly reject failed liberalism and embrace freedom and liberty and Christian values long held and deep in their fore-father’s bones for generations since President Lincoln.
Many have likened Lisa Fritsch’s run for the governorship of Texas as a long shot that will possibly fall markedly short of the goal line. But Fritsch is undeterred about the long shot notions being tossed around and instead embraces her reliance on her own background and experience.
According to the New York Times, Fritsch reaches into the seven generation roots she has in Texas to strengthen her resolve, she stated, “What if Davy Crockett had said, ‘How could we compete with the Mexican Army at the Alamo?’ ” She said. “Should they have given up? Absolutely not.”
What is remarkable is the generations of so-called liberal leaders who are ever ready to tear apart aspiring Americans leaders like Fritsch who embraces their conservatism. The Al Sharptons and Jesse Jacksons and other poverty pimps poison the well.
If the nation has yet to recognize her name, Tea Party members all across the great state of Texas certainly have. It is not an accident that in a recent poll taken by the Tea Party in the state capitol, Fritsch was the top GOP vote getter last weekend, according to the New York Times.

The Democratic Ascendency Was Always About Same-Sex Marriage. Its Victory Will Bring GOP Ascendency

Doug Hagin at 'The Daily Gator' has these thoughts up about Gay marriage LINK

To start let me be very clear, I do not give a flip about anyone’s sex life, that is their own business I have always defined marriage as one man and one woman, to me that is what marriage is. But, I have always thought that states should decide that definition for themselves, and I still do, it is Federalism at its best. But, I also recognize that allowing state legislatures to decide will never be enough for the activists on the Left. Neither will allowing the voters of a state to decide for themselves. Neither would a federal law enshrining civil unions. As always with the Left nothing is enough.

So, I find myself in a strange place here. Thinking on one hand that allowing States to decide this issue is right. And, knowing on the other hand that the Left will only use that to push their agenda even harder. Knowing that leaving it to the States will only lead to lawsuit after lawsuit, eventually forcing upon those states the definition of marriage they rejected. Knowing that eventually no business will be allowed to refuse service to a Gay wedding lest they be sued into oblivion, or charged under some inane “human rights” law. Knowing the one day even churches would be forced to perform Gay weddings against their wishes.”

He further references Robert Stacy McCain ( journalist whose 'The Other McCain'
site is widely respected):

Stacy McCain has his thoughts on the Left’s constant push towards Totalitarianism, it is worth the read
One of the things we must understand about the Left is the essentially totalitarian nature of their ambitions. There is no logical stopping point on the progressive road to the Utopia of Equality that they insist is always ahead of us, a destination never reached.
Grant all their demands today, and they will return tomorrow with a new list of demands. What do they want? More, always more.
Yesterday, a federal judge struck down Virginia’s state constitutional amendment prohibiting same-sex marriage, because obviously (a) the Fourteenth Amendment was intended for such a purpose, and (b) never mind the will of voters expressed in a referendum”

Unfortunately, both Hagin and Stacy McCain's comments are correct i.e. the left, with their totalitarian mind-set will push on until they overturn, via judicial activism, the will of the people in the various states.

However, with the law of unintended consequences still in action, they will also get something they didn't expect-a conservative revival in the Electoral College.

Once the seeming inevitable happens, and the supreme court rules that same-sex marriage is “a sacred covenent” as a lower court has just ruled in Virginia, the issue will cease to be part of the political discourse. At that point the difference between the conservative and leftist political offerings will be clear, unclouded by social issues. At offer at the ballot box, undistorted, will be a conservative administration committed to sane financial polices, or a liberal administration committed to welfarism through massive deficit spending.

With genuinely conservative candidates committed to a conservative financial agenda, and willing to take that fight to the public, the presidency should follow on from current Republican control of the House and state legislatures and, shortly, the Senate.

The leftist coalition which brought the Obama administration into power was always about promoting same-sex marriage. Hollywood, and its supporters in the media and blogosphere e.g. Kos Moulitsas for obvious reasons, got behind Obama, and savaged the Republicans, especially Sarah Palin, with everything at their disposal. Nothing was too false, or hidden behind smokescreens, not to be employed to ensure a leftist presidency. From “journolists” conspiracies, to unending television talk show hosts ridiculing the GOP, to promoting insane conspiracy theories like Governor Palin faking the birth of her son nothing was off limits.

Now that they have achieved the initial goals and are on the path to full victory, there is no reason for that level of support for the Democratic party to be given. It is noticeable that the unwavering adulation of Obama is winding down, even in some of the wilder shores of the leftist blogosphere, and if the 2010 hiding for the Dem's is repeated in the next mid-terms the writing will be very much on the wall.

Even Hollywood understands the basic rules of economics and, whilst they were happy to see short term economic profligacy in return for the homosexual agenda being implemented, they would not wish long term pain to ensue which would affect their income streams. Thus there is little incentive, apart from a residual leftism, to give such active support to future Democrat candidates. At that point, with the political messaging a clear, unfogged "either-or" the Republican ascendancy can assert itself.

The fact that “progressives" will see themselves exposed as dupes of those with an agenda, unrelated to their totalitarian instincts, and Republican control of all areas of government will be a positive sight. But that is, in itself, hardly worth having to have endured basically 10 years of propaganda and an unprecedented increase in the countries debt burden.

Part of the blame for the left having achieved their social goals lies with the Republican establishment putting up “moderates" as presidential candidates and, sad to say, for the right not having recognized what really was behind the Obama movement. Hopefully, all that will be remedied with a genuine conservative presidential candidate in 2016.

Full Statement From Senator Cruz:"Sens. Cruz and Lee Introduce State Marriage Defense Act"

Here is the statement, which is supported by Senator Lee from the office of Senator Cruz. It is a rare and valued thing to see such commitment to principles from a public servant-particularly, in this cynical age, after they have been elected. It is no accident that both are strongly supported by Governor Palin. Original at this LINK

Sens. Cruz and Lee Introduce State Marriage Defense Act

S. 2024 PRESERVES ABILITY OF STATES TO DEFINE MARRIAGE CONSISTENT WITH VALUES OF THEIR CITIZENS

February 13, 2014

  |

(202) 228-7561

WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Mike Lee, R-Utah, today introduced S. 2024, the State Marriage Defense Act, which respects the definition of marriage held by the people of each state and protects states from the federal government’s efforts to force any other definition upon them. The bill will ensure the federal government gives the same deference to the 33 states that define marriage as the union between one man and one woman as it does to the 17 states that have chosen to recognize same-sex unions.
“I support traditional marriage. Under President Obama, the federal government has tried to re-define marriage, and to undermine the constitutional authority of each state to define marriage consistent with the values of its citizens,” said Sen. Cruz. “The Obama Administration should not be trying to force gay marriage on all 50 states. We should respect the states, and the definition of marriage should be left to democratically elected legislatures, not dictated from Washington. This bill will safeguard the ability of states to preserve traditional marriage for its residents.”
“How a state should define marriage should be left up to the citizens of each state,” said Sen. Lee. “It is clear the Obama administration finds the principles of federalism inconvenient in its effort to force states to redefine the institution of marriage. The State Marriage Defense Act provides an important protection for states, respecting the right to choose for themselves how each will treat the institution of marriage under the law.”
In United States v. Windsor, the Supreme Court improperly held Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) to be unconstitutional. Nevertheless, the Supreme Court's reasoning requires the federal government to respect the primacy of the states in defining marriage.
Unfortunately, since the Windsor decision, the Obama Administration’s agenda to force same-sex marriage has led both to the violation of these principles and to the rise of inconsistencies among several federal agencies that either look to the law of the state where an individual lives to determine eligibility for marital benefits or recognize marriages based solely on the law of the state where a marriage ceremony was held.
The State Marriage Defense Act will correct this inconsistency and protect states from an out of control administration that is seeking to force same sex marriage upon states that define marriage as the union between one man and one woman.

In Show Of Class Major Leftists,Kos/Klein/Matthews/Letterman/Schoenkopf Etc.Wish Gov.Palin Happy 50th

Our guest editor A.Eritas was bemused, taken aback and, much to his (and my) surprise, discovered a huge outpouring of goodwill from all avenues of leftist media sites and all stripes of leftist personalities. This outpouring, for that is truly what it is in its crescendo, has been graciously directed towards Governor Sarah Palin on the occasion of her 50th birthday. here is the Eritas round-up of this amazing transformation.
******************************************************
Perhaps it is, finally if I may add, an expression of President Obama's "new civility" that the left has undertaken to express towards the most unlikely subject, and perhaps it is being a bit cynical to suppose given the wonderful nature of the outpouring, a mark of gratitude for all the "clicks" and viewers their sites and shows have received because of Palin.

Whatever the reason-and we must ascribe only the most gracious of impulses to these normally acerbic citizens of the left side of the political divide-it is wonderful to canvass the many who gave their sincere best wishes.

From the entertainment world David Letterman stopped his monologue and once again gave a sincere apology for describing the Governor as having a "slutty flight attendant look" and of course the "rape slur" against her daughter and then wished Palin the happiest of birthdays whilst inviting her on to his show. A warm tweet from Louis C.K. with best wishes and an apology for his rant, Bill Maher did a special bit on his show where he apologized for the c**t remark and wished her every happiness-so charming when he wants to be. Similar apologies 'hatchet burying' and best wishes came from Sarah Silverman, and Sandra Bernhard who'd allegedly said she would"get her Black homies to gang rape her."

Julianne Moore sent a smiley with a note explaining she knew her performance was over the top and part of a political ploy to stop a possible Palin presidential run in 2012. Matt Damon, Tina Fey and so many other actors and writers joined in the mass apology and celebration that it was truly heart-warming.

From the leftist media there came an avalanche of good will, perhaps guilt had reached breaking point and Governor Palin's joyous 50th gave an opportunity for expiation and renewal?

There were expressions of sorry for creating the 'journolist" conspiracy in 2008 from Ezra Klein, Jon Stewart said "it was all in fun really" and the entire political staff at Washington post  and at MSNBC signed a huge birthday card explaining that they were only doing what their bosses paid them to do, and if it went to far they sincerely regretted it.

Big Ed Schultz did a "John Hancock" and signed his name in large letters "so the Guv. can read it without her spectacles" he said cheekily. On the other hand Dana Milbank's signature could hardly be deciphered-but it was there.

Perhaps most surprisingly amongst this outpouring of goodwill was the delighted series of noted, bearing on genuine fondness it seems from the "progressive" blogosphere which was previously in the forefront of the Palin attack frenzy.

There was a major lead post on Daily Kos from Kos Moulitsas apologizing for his "Mission accomplished Sarah Palin" tweet which he wrote just after the Gifford's tragedy- "we all make mistakes" he said "and my birthday wises are my way of setting the matter right." Joan Walsh at Salon and even the die hard PUMA Taylor Marsh added their sincere best wishes.

What was a delight was to see the extreme site "Wonkette" run a full editorial from the pen of its Palin demonizing editor one Rebecca Schoenkopf. This person said that her communist heritage got in the way of her better judgement and her apology and warm birthday wishes were a mark of having at last seen the light. It is expected that Wonkette will be remade as a fighting conservative defender and will have an image of Governor Palin on its masthead.

They say that goodness can, over time and with a battle against a persons demons, cure even the most rabid of partisans. It appears it has taken an event of such overwhelming positivity and goodness like Governor Palin's 50th birthday to effect a massive change of heart by the previously rabid left-a miracle of our time. We look forward to a new era of harmony and civility from the left.

N.B.I appreciate it is hard to believe, given the wonderful, caring and enlightened nature of all the people mentioned in it, but the above post is a satire.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus Poster Person For Hollywood's Attack On Social Vlaues

It is blindingly obvious that Hollywood, in all its manifestations, movies, television, fanzines etc. is unabashedly leftist. What else could it be, as it is a repository of the mass neuroses that characterizes the acting profession in all its adjuncts.

A profession that is tenuously built on sand has little relation to the normal world of job creation and normal ethics and values. On the other hand those relatively few who succeed and amass wild riches are also disconnected from the normal world.

Sadly, given the distorted nature of society which admires and worships the media sensationalism that is part and parcel of the falsity of Hollywood the leftist denizens have free reign to peddle their distorted views of society.

The writers and actors have a platform to undermine male/female marriage, create the premise that same sex relations and marriage are normal and that abortion on demand is a right. The traditional role of the male in family relationships is lampooned and every sort of promiscuity and perversion is given free expression if not support.

In an interview with Julia Louis-Dreyfus in the leftist "Guardian" this attack on traditional values was discussed and lauded as a tremendous 'breakthrough". Breakthrough it was for the left who use the medium to denigrate conservatives and push an hedonistic, corrupt agenda.

Here is Louis-Dreyfus in full cry:

"I wonder if she realised at the time how radical a creation Elaine was. It seems incredible now that a woman in a prime-time 1990s network sitcom was permitted to be as funny and venal as her male co-stars. Elaine broke every taboo. She was anti-religion, pro-abortion and an appalling dancer. Sexually she was apologetically ravenous, even undiscerning; in one episode, a period of enforced celibacy rendered her temporarily insensible. She enjoyed her promiscuity so that the women in Sex and the City and Girls could later do likewise.
For Louis-Dreyfus, the most significant advance occurred during The Contest, an episode in which the main characters attempt to abstain from self-abuse. "That was ground-breaking. Guys talking about masturbation was acceptable. But when a woman enters that dialogue, it's a whole different matter. I felt lucky to be a part of that. To me, it was the show that was radical rather than Elaine. It was an anti-sitcom sitcom. 'You mean all these little moments build up to become a show about – that? Seriously?'"
Almost the full leftist agenda was on display in two paragraphs- abortion, anti-religion, sexual license, women being proud of achieving parity with men on the masturbation, venality level.

It is time for a revulsion against this leftist domination of the media and for the arts to reflect conservative values-what it would take to effect that is a matter of consideration-perhaps a television network financed by backers who uphold traditional American values. Fox news has shown what can be done, it is time to expand that effort into the wider media.

"You've Got My Heart In Your Hands"

"Who Can I Turn To?" is genuinely beautiful. Hopefully a major artist might pick it up. There are more tracks HERE
