The Schoenkopf (Wonkette) Letters;Six Shocking Words And Your Place In Eternity

and I love you too. I hope you have a marvelous evening. We shall be opposite-beliefs/parties/and opinions friends.

Okay, dear. God will sort us all out.

Visitors to the leftist political site "Wonkette" will know that "A Point of View" has figured significantly in their presentation-being the subject of a major article which attracted substantial comments. Even though I mention Wonkette and its editor, one self-styled "Commie Girl" Rebecca Schoenkopf on occasion, that is apparently not enough to satisfy that sites seeming insatiable demand for my observations as a number of their "columnists" have wistfully looked for them.

That is of course understandable given the tenor of the articles at the "satire" site and the ability of their assorted part time writers. However, I have enough to do without providing quality items to lift their image/profile. I did suggest an occasional guest article, as it is a duty to assist the uninformed where one can, but apparent lack of foresight, sadly, meant that darkness continues where light should shine.

In the course of my correspondence with an absolutely lovely Catholic lady who Tweets a substantial stream of uplifting comments on things Catholic, moral and conservative, I mentioned a Wonkette attack on the Catholic, moral and conservative Rick Santorum who is admired by this lady.

The Wonkette editor, Schoenkopf, initiated a correspondence with her and, since good can be found in nearly all, revealed in said dialogue a personality which, although clearly misguided in some areas, is not lacking in basic human respect where due. Even I myself have been the recipient of a few words which were not a million miles from civility  (even though there were tied to base fundraising).

I show the end dialogue between the two noble ladies at the commencement of this article (there being no particular reason to burden the reader with the preceding political aspects of the correspondence) as a massive oak has grown from a seemingly small acorn-a miracle in itself.

What can we garner from this seemingly most pleasant , civilized and apparently innocuous dialogue? For those with eyes to see and ears to hear there is, in six words, eternity calling.

If someone, of obvious sincerity, said to me in response to my presenting a moral or social or political position that touched on the eternal verities "God will sort us all out" I would endeavour to recover my shaken equilibrium. Once achieved, I would immediately put all current matters on the back-burner and undergo a period of introspection for as long as it took to fully consider those words, and my relation to them.

Having duly done so over the last few days I came to this conclusion. If in respect of my moral, political, religious beliefs God was to, indeed, sort me out I would hope that when the sorting (or winnowing if one wants to use a biblical term) came my beliefs, and the actions that followed on from them, would see God put me in the sorted column marked "saved".

Now I know, not being a Calvinist where pre-destination has already sorted things out, that there is nothing I can do to get myself, by my own actions, put in the right column except by simply accepting salvation by faith. However accepting salvation by faith surely implies that although one will stuff things up and be a sinner, one should at least try to be, as a Republican said, on the side of "our better angels"

I believe (and as a leftist said "you either have faith or unbelief") that the side of the angels is the side that is pro-life, believes marriage is between one man and one woman, and is for personal freedom without license.

With the greatest respect to those who hold to  "opposite beliefs/parties/opinions" if they are not atheists and also believe "God will sort us all out" perhaps similar introspection regarding those six words might be of value.

N.B. The article above is my opinion and in no way assumes any particular thinking on the part of Mrs. Graas or ascribes any aspect of my article to her, and most certainly does not ascribe any negativity from her towards anyone.

Truman's "Salty Language," Beloved By Left. Palin Re; WHCD Is However "UnPresidential"

Here is Sarah Palin on the White House Correspondents  Dinner which comment the hypocritical left seized on as
"unpresidential." And... by the way, "The Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden: "It's a big F*^#ing deal."

That was pathetic. The rest of America is out there working our asses off while these DC assclowns throw themselves a

Here is Wiki says about Democrat President Harry S. Truman.

"On a personal note, he was never presidential nor refined. He pretty much said whatever came to his mind and often said it in salty language. For example , he once wrote a letter to a critic who had given a negative review of his daughter's singing and said something to the effect that the critic would need a new nose if they ever met."

Here below is President Truman's Daughter Margaret Truman reflecting on her father's personality. For leftists this "salty language" and love of the "rough and tumble of politics" is wonderful, as was his "Missouri twang".

But let Palin have an Alaskan accent use creative sometimes "salty " words and engage in hard hitting rough and tumble against Democrats and she is "un-presidential"

That is classic Alinskyite and Wonkette-ite tactics but fools nobody except low information naive leftists.

Indeed, he was supremely confident of his own judgment. He acted boldly, and decisively. Once he made a decision, he forgot about it and went on to something else. He was earnest, incorruptible, and blunt in speech. Like Andrew Jackson, he was notorious for his explosive temper and salty language. To some it was refreshing to see a president honest enough to blow off steam in public. It disturbed others, like David Lilienthal, chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, who worried that his temper might set off World War III. Although irascible, Truman was not moody or prone to depression. He thrived on the rough and tumble of politics. “If you can’t stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen,” was his much-heralded philosophy. Truman delivered prepared addresses poorly in a flat voice marked by a distinct Missouri twang. But out on the stump, he fired up crowds with off-the-cuff speeches, characteristically of simple, straightforward sentences.

Israel "Considering Letting Jews Pray On Temple Mount";Inexorable Step Towards Rebuilding The Temple?

You either have faith or you have unbelief-there ain't no middle ground; Bob Dylan.

Last November, when Hamas rockets were hitting Israel and were capable of destroying the Muslim shrine "The Dome of The Rock" which is built on the site of Solomon's Temple, I sketched out the history of the two sites in the article reproduced below. Then I covered the Jewish and Christian religious beliefs concerning the Temple and made the obvious point that it could not be rebuilt, in whole, unless the Muslim shrine was not there.

Clearly the Jews and Christians could not effect it removal-nor would they wish to, but the Muslims themselves could by an act of war as for example what Hamas was undertaking. If that happened then the prophetic impetus could continue.

Nothing is impossible with prophecy as the very existence of Israel proves. The action by Hamas did not cause any destruction, but time is meaningless as far as prophecy is concerned. That another manner of rebuilding the Temple might happen, perhaps in a modified form, or that some action might eventuate from this new development set out below, where Jews may be allowed to pray on the Temple Mount is to be watched.

The only thing that is certain is that the Temple will, and must (the must of prophecy) be rebuilt. After that comes the final fulfilment of prophecy.

With thanks to Jews For Sarah

*********************************************************************************

The Biblical research site 100prophecies sets out ten major Biblical prophecies pertaining to the re-establishment and rebuilding of Israel  its prosperity, safety against enemies, and it becoming the world's most important religious site. It also shows the prophecy of Israel becoming "fruitful" in both the agricultural and spiritual manner-with Christianity being its most significant "fruit" which was established  in Israel and exported across the entire globe.

Whether a believer or not, a person, no matter how much an atheist they might be, must surely give pause, if they are the slightest bit intellectually honest, and consider the unique historical facts. There is not one instance of any nation's peoples being  completely ravaged by war, dispersed across the globe, subject to every possible persecution for millenniums and the herded into concentration camps by the millions where they were tortured and gassed to death.

And then, against impossible human odds, these same peoples saw the restoration of their country and, again, against impossible odds, saw that country defend itself in three major wars and at one point expand to the size of Davidic Israel.

Both Jews and Christians look to the coming of the Messiah. For the Jews, they look to this happening for the first time, for the Christians it will be the second and  final time. One thing both agree on is that he will be a Jew "Salvation is of the Jew's" said Jesus.

The restoration of Israel, against all odds except God's plan is, after nearly two thousand years, the first sign of the return of the Messiah, the last judgement and God's reign. According to prophecy one further thing has to happen regarding Israel and that is set out in point six below:

In Micah 4:1, the prophet said that the Temple mount in Jerusalem would become the focal point of the world. This prophecy has not yet been fulfilled.

Here is Micah 4:1

In the last days the mountain of the Lord's temple will be established as chief among the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and peoples will stream to it.

The restoration of Solomon's Temple at the Temple mount, of which only the wailing wall remains, is at this time impossible. Why? Because the Muslim conquerors of Jerusalem, as is their usual practice when they conquer a territory and put their religious buildings over destroyed religious sites as a sign of  supposed superiority, built a major mosque on the site "the Dome of the rock". For Israel to destroy that building to commence restoring Solomon's temple would cause the biggest of "holy wars" and would never be attempted.

How then can Micah's prophecy be implemented? The only way would be if the Muslim's themselves destroyed their own holy site in an act of war which they then could not blame the Jew's for. That this is now possible, when until modern times and weapons  it was not (and of course was not possible before the re-establishment of the state if Israel) is proven by Hamas rockets hitting Jerusalem  for the first time

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — Palestinian militants took aim at Jerusalem for the first time Friday, launching a rocket attack on the holy city in a major escalation of hostilities as Israel pressed forward with a relentless campaign of airstrikes in the Gaza Strip.

The End Times has a prophetic analysis which it ties in with the historic events leading to the Muslim conquest of Jerusalem and the, up till now, impossibility  of the Temple ever being rebuilt in its original location, and also states the challenge:

"This puts Israel’s future Temple at odds with the Islamic world.  Islam would never accept the building of a Jewish Temple over this location.  Orthodox Judaism, the ones in favor of  building a Temple would not accept the “Dome of the Rock”."

And then sets out the possible scenario's for this challenge to be overcome and Biblical prophecy to continue on its seemingly impossible path to its fulfilment. The re-establishment of the Jews in Israel and it's restoration as a country was ridiculed and mocked but came to pass-we shall see what transpires in Jerusalem in our day.
*******************************************************************************************
Against all odd the restoration of Israel and the return of the Jews. Biblical prophecy fulfilled after thousand of years.

These 10 Bible prophecies were fulfilled after 1948, when Israel became an independent country for the second time in history. These prophecies foretold of modern Israel's stunning military victories and of its transition from a desert wasteland to a prosperous nation.

1. Israel will prevail over its enemies
Bible passage: Isaiah 41:12-14
Written: perhaps between 701-681 BC
Fulfilled: late 1900s

In Isaiah 41:12-14, the prophet said God would help Israel during times of conflict with enemies (if the people have faith in God). Isaiah said this during a time when the northern kingdom of Israel had already been conquered by the Assyrian Empire. And the southern kingdom, Judah, was about to be conquered by Babylon. (The Bible explains that Israel and Judah lost their independence because so many of the residents had turned to false religions). But, since 1948 when Israel was re-established, Israel has been attacked by much-larger countries. And Israel has prevailed in each of those attacks. This prophecy has found partial fulfillment; Christian scholars believe that a time will come when all of Israel's enemies are destroyed.

Here is Isaiah 41:12-14
Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all. For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Do not be afraid, O worm Jacob, O little Israel, for I myself will help you," declares the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

2. The ruins of Israel would be rebuilt

Bible passage: Amos 9:11, 13
Written: about 750 BC
Fulfilled: late 1900s

In Amos 9:11, 13, the prophet said that God would restore the land of David. (King David ruled Israel from about 1010 BC to about 970 BC). The land of David - Israel - was conquered and destroyed by the Babylonians, Assyrians and Romans. The land has been in ruins for much of the past 2000 years. The Jews, who had been scattered throughout the world, began to return in large numbers during the past 100 years. Since then, they have been rebuilding many of Israel's ancient cities. Amos also said there would be continuous planting and harvesting. During the past 100 years, the Jews have been using advanced farming and irrigation techniques to turn barren land into productive farmland. Today, Israel is a source of food for many countries.
Here is Amos 9:11, 13

"In that day I will restore David's fallen tent. I will repair its broken places, restore its ruins, and build it as it used to be,'' … "The days are coming," declares the Lord, "when the reaper will be overtaken by the plowman and the planter by the one treading grapes. New wine will drip from the mountains and flow from all the hills."

3. Ezekiel prophesied prosperity for modern-day Israel

Bible passage: Ezekiel 36:11
Written: between 593-571 BC
Fulfilled: late 1900s

In Ezekiel 36:11, the prophet said that there would come a time when Israel would be more prosperous than it was in the past. The Bible describes Israel as being a prosperous nation during the time of King David and King Solomon about 3000 years ago. But, Ezekiel knew a very different Israel. In Ezekiel's day (he lived about 2600 years ago), the northern kingdom of Israel already had been decimated by the Assyrians, and the southern kingdom (called Judah) was being destroyed by the Babylonians. In the centuries that followed these destructions, Jews rebuilt the city of Jerusalem, but their homeland was destroyed again, by the Romans, about 1900 years ago. Since then, a majority of Jews have lived in exile. But during the past 100 years, millions of Jews from around the world moved to Israel and they have been rebuilding the country once again. Today, Israel again is an independent nation, as it was in the days of King David, and it is one of the world's most prosperous countries. In 1999, Israel had the highest per capita Gross Domestic Product of any nearby country, even though the surrounding countries have many oil resources.

Here is Ezekiel 36:11

I will increase the number of men and animals upon you, and they will be fruitful and become numerous. I will settle people on you as in the past and will make you prosper more than before. Then you will know that I am the Lord.
4
. Trees again would grow in Israel
Bible passage: Isaiah 41:18-20
Written: perhaps between 701-681 BC
Fulfilled: late 1900s

In Isaiah 41:18-20, the prophet's talk of a future restoration of Israel coincides with an occurrence in modern Israel - the construction of a vast irrigation system to improve farming. The lack of available water, including rain, is one reason why Israel had been a desolate, unproductive land during much of the past 2000 years. But, during the 1900s, when many Jews returned to their ancient homeland, they built a network of irrigation systems. And during the past century, more than 200 million trees have been planted in Israel.
Here is Isaiah 41:18-20
I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs. I will put in the desert the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive. I will set pines in the wasteland, the fir and the cypress together, so that people may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the Lord has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it.

5. Isaiah said Israel's fruit would fill the world

Bible passage: Isaiah 27:6
Written: perhaps between 701-681 BC
Fulfilled: late 1900s

In Isaiah 27:6, the prophet said Israel would one day blossom and fill the world with fruit. This prophecy has been at least partially fulfilled, literally and symbolically. Today, the land of Israel, which had been barren for centuries, is a leading producer of agricultural products, exporting food to many countries. This prophecy also has been fulfilled symbolically with the worldwide spread of Christianity. Christianity, which began with Jesus in Israel, now has about 2 billion followers worldwide.

Here is Isaiah 27:6
In days to come Jacob will take root, Israel will bud and blossom and fill all the world with fruit.

6. Jerusalem would become the world's most important religious site
Bible passage: Micah 4:1
Written: sometime between 750-686 BC
Fulfilled: Today

In Micah 4:1, the prophet said that the Temple mount in Jerusalem would become the focal point of the world. This prophecy has not yet been fulfilled. But, it is interesting to note that Jerusalem is, and has been for centuries, the world's most important religious site. Christians and Jews regard the city as the world's most important, and Christians and Jews comprise about one-third of the world's population. No other city in the world is a religious focal point to as many people.

Here is Micah 4:1
In the last days the mountain of the Lord's temple will be established as chief among the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and peoples will stream to it.

7. Egypt would never again rule over other nations
Bible passage: Ezekiel 29:15
Written: between 593-571 BC
Fulfilled: 1967, etc.

In Ezekiel 29:15, the prophet says that Egypt would recover from a desolation (perhaps Babylon's attack about 2600 years ago), but that it would never again rule over other nations. Up until the time of Ezekiel, Egypt had been a world power for centuries, dominating many nations, including Israel. But for most of the past 2500 years, Egypt has been controlled by foreign powers, including the Romans, Ottomans and Europeans. Today, Egypt is an independent nation again. In 1948, 1967 and 1973, Egypt tried to dominate Israel but was unsuccessful each time, despite the fact that Egypt is 10 times larger than Israel. Since the time of Ezekiel, Egypt no longer rules over other nations.

Here is Ezekiel 29:15
It will be the lowliest of kingdoms and will never again exalt itself above the other nations. I will make it so weak that it will never again rule over the nations.

8. Zechariah prophesied the Jews return to Jerusalem
Bible passage: Zechariah 8:7-8
Written: between 520 and 518 BC
Fulfilled: 1967, etc.

In Zechariah 8:7-8, the prophet said God would bring the Jews back from the east and the west to their homeland (Israel) and that they would be able to live in the city of Jerusalem again. This prophecy has been fulfilled more than once. About 2600 years ago, Babylon destroyed Jerusalem and took many Jews as captives to Babylon. But many Jews later returned from Babylon. The Jews rebuilt Jerusalem but the city was destroyed about 1900 years ago by the Romans. The Romans killed more than 1 million Jews and forced many more into exile. The Jews did not have control of Jerusalem again until 1967 when the Jews recaptured the city during the Six Day War.

Here is Zechariah 8:7-8
This is what the Lord Almighty says: "I will save my people from the countries of the east and the west. I will bring them back to live in Jerusalem; they will be my people, and I will be faithful and righteous to them as their God."

9. Israel's deserts will become like the Garden of Eden
Bible passage: Isaiah 51:3
Written: perhaps between 701-681 BC
Fulfilled: Being fulfilled now

In Isaiah 51:3, the prophet said that God will restore Israel and make it a paradise, like the garden of Eden. This foreshadows what is currently happening in Israel. The Jews have been irrigating, cultivating and reconditioning the land during much of the 1900s. Many of the country's swamps, which had been infested with malaria, have been converted into farmland. And water from the Sea of Galilee has been channeled through portions of the deserts, allowing some of the deserts to bloom. Much work remains, but parts of Israel are blooming again. Although it was described as a wasteland as recently as the late 1800s, Israel is now a food source for many countries. And at least 200 million of trees have been planted there during the past century.

Here is Isaiah 51:3

The Lord will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing.

10. Isaiah foretold of the worldwide return of Jews to Israel
Bible passage: Isaiah 43:5-6
Written: perhaps between 701-681 BC
Fulfilled: late 1900s

In Isaiah 43:5-6, the prophet Isaiah said that the Jews would return to their homeland from the east, the west, the north and the south. Isaiah lived about 2700 years ago. At that time, the Assyrians had forced many Jews in the northern kingdom of Israel into exile. Those Jews were taken to other areas in the Middle East. Then, about 1900 years ago, the Romans destroyed the city of Jerusalem and killed and exiled hundreds of thousands of Jews. Since then, the Jews have been scattered to virtually every country in the world. But, during the past century, millions of J

Jews have returned to Israel, from the east, the west, the north and the south.
From the east: Many Jews living in the Middle East moved to Israel by the early 1900s.
From the west: During mid-1900s, hundreds of thousands of Jews living in the West (Europe and the United States) began moving to Israel.

From the north: The former Soviet Union (Russia) is north of Israel. It refused to allow its Jewish residents to move to Israel. But, after years of pressure from other countries, Russia finally began to allow Jews to return to Israel during the 1980s. So far, hundreds of thousands of Russian Jews have moved to Israel.

From the south: Ethiopia, which is south of Israel, also refused to allow its Jews to return to Israel. But, in 1985, Israel struck a deal with Ethiopia's communist government to allow the Jews of Ethiopia to move to Israel. On the weekend of May 25, 1991, 14,500 Ethiopian Jews were airlifted to Israel.

Isaiah's prophecy was also correct in saying that the north (Russia) and the south (Ethiopia) would have to be persuaded to give up their Jews. Many countries pressured Russia for years before it began to allow its Jews to leave. And Ethiopia had to be paid a ransom to allow its Jews to leave.

Isaiah's prophecy was also correct in saying that the Jews would return "from the ends of the earth," and Isaiah said that many centuries before the Jews had been scattered to the ends of the earth. During the past 100 years, Jews living as far east as China, as far west as the West Coast of the United States, as far north as Scandinavia, and as far south as South Africa, have moved to Israel.
Here is Isaiah 43:5-6
"Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, `Give them up!' and to the south, `Do not hold them back.' Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth…

Leftist Blogs Are Also Lame Ducks As Bush Era Fades Away So Will They

Tim Stanley writing at the highly respected
Daily Telegraph considers President Obama to now be a "lame duck president" in this extract.

"Barack Obama is a lame-duck president.    Nobody listens to what he says anymore, nobody is interested in winning his approval and nobody much cares if he thinks they have “let the country down”. This is typical for a second-term president who has lost all their leverage because they’re no longer running for office and everybody is patiently waiting for the day when he quits the White House.

But Obama's difficult personality has doubled the size of the challenge. Gloating in victory, adolescent in defeat – the Prez doesn’t make it easy to work with him. Why should conservative senators give him a legislative victory after he has spent four years painting them as knuckle-dragging rednecks who hate women and the poor?

Whatever your position on gun control, yesterday’s events are a damning indictment of Obama’s presidency – a flash of style, lots of soaring rhetoric and, when the votes are actually counted, little show for any of it. America has four more years of this lame-duck president telling them that it has let him down. If only he could tear up the Constitution and rule by diktat he might save himself a little disappointment. Alas, American democracy is a stickler for rules."

All the radical leftist blogs which bubbled up from the sub stratum, some from the deepest hell during the Bush years, will finally have exhausted their hate, seen their agenda in place, and their audience having advanced into sensible middle age with mortgages and the like.

It is not only president Obama who is now in lame duck territory but also the mass of leftist bloggers who pre-dated and enabled him. Like him they have little so say and their influence is obviously waning.

These bloggers, with their mostly young patsys in tow, reached their zenith of hate and influence after the Iraq war turned sour and sailed into fame and money on an ocean of bile and resentment from disaffected youth.

The likes of Kos Moulitsas, Charles Johnson, and other assorted oddballs like Andrew Sullivan, will have seen their audience depart and they will return, with suckers money unfortunately, into the obscurity from whence  they arose. Hopefully at that point utterly ridiculed and lampooned by a new generation of conservative bloggers untouched by the Bush miasma.

Does the "mainstream media" and the likes of Politico and Slate deserve such a fate too? If it was still operating in the type of leftist foment of the Bush years, then yes, in fact into Dante's last circle of hell where Newsweek currently resides, they would go.

But under the kinder gentler eventual conservative political/social environment maybe, just maybe, there will be a place for traditional liberal political/social comment and satire of the Shelley Berman/Mort Sahl type.

What there won't be is room for the soon to be discredited and mostly forgotten hate sites like Daily Kos, Little Green Footballs, Crooks & Liars, and the execrable Immoral Minority.

Myth Of GOP's "Southern Strategy" Useful For Dem Enablers Like Jon Stewart To Attack GOP "Racism" & Rand Paul

Jon Stewart  http://www.thedailyshow.com/ in conjunction with his "Senior Black Correspondent" lampooned Rand Paul's visit to Howard University which was part of the GOP's new outreach policy.

Clearly this is a defensive move on the part of the left and of course highlights the hypocrisy of their call for  a co-operative social/political environment. Instead of applauding Paul's move, they found all the faults, real or imagined, they could with it.

The two "faults' they highlighted were the supposed condescension  in Paul's speech, and what they determined was the GOP's adherence to their supposed "Southern Strategy." This they claim is an indication of White racism, or rather cynicism by the GOP hierarchy in enlisting the support of White voters (former Dem's) in the South by toning down the admitted historical Republican support of Blacks to ensure those states Electoral College votes.

"You can't cover-up 50 years of racism by a supposed outreach" is their current meme. let's see how "50 years of racism" stacks up in reality. Yes there was an announced "Southern Strategy" by a GOP insider years ago, but whether such an announcement had any basis in reality is another matter.

Firstly, if we take the election of 1972 as the commencement of this so called "strategy" the time frame is 40 years. The time frame for Republican commitment to Blacks-including the ending of slavery, if we accept it ended in 1972 (which it didn't), ran from 1854 to 1972 that is 118 years or nearly three times as long as the purported reversal.

If the Electoral College map from 1972 to 2012 is considered without bias, and with logic, it will be seen that there is no "Southern Strategy' based on a prejudicial attitude to the Black community. For this exercise the 11 states of the Confederacy, plus the two states claimed by it, are reviewed for their collective voting history.

* South Carolina * Mississippi * Florida
* Alabama  * Georgia * Louisiana  * Texas
* Virginia * Arkansas * North Carolina * Tennessee

Brilliant,Challenging Analysis: "THATCHER, AND GOD, ARE OF ANOTHER ERA" But There Is Hope For A Return To Values With Palin

This article from New Zealand is significant in that it goes to the very heart of the looked for conservative revival. At first glance it could be considered a cry of despair but it is instead a call to action.

If on reading one is inspired to seek out and support those, like Sarah Palin, who can effect a conservative Reagan-ite revival then the undeniably negative changes in society can be reversed. This is a must  read and should be widely disseminated. I have included Sarah Palin's moving Facebook tribute to Margaret Thatcher at the endof the article.

BRUCE LOGAN: THATCHER, AND GOD, ARE OF ANOTHER ERA

NZ Herald 12 April 2013
Bruce Logan says the death of Baroness Thatcher comes as the state expands its power inexorably.  The death of
Margaret Thatcher is symbolic as much as it is real. It’s almost the last breath of a dying vision; the end of an era. The Iron Lady was a Christian and patriot who believed in personal responsibility and the freedom which flowed from the expression of that responsibility. In spite of her weaknesses, she really believed in the old virtues such as courage, justice, prudence and temperance.
One suspects she, like many of us, coveted faith, hope and love as well. The replacement vision, which has been winking at us for some time, is really humanity’s second oldest religion; the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil is seductive and luscious. “We shall be as gods!” Evolutionary rational intelligence will now liberate the human mind and redirect the future. God, we have discovered, with no new evidence, did not make man in his image after all. He did not give us our dignity.
The freedom we once enjoyed and the demise of absolute government was a mere quirk of history. The notion of dignity, it would seem, is founded on a mere tautology. We possess dignity because we are human: we are human because we possess dignity. But just a minute, a tautology will not do. If we cannot appeal to God then there is only one alternative; the state.
By nature men and women serve; it’s simply a matter of who’s the boss. Once it was God, now it has become the law embodied in the state. Without God in the wings the state will be absolute. That is inevitable; the lesson of the 20th century. That lesson should have been clear in the failure of the great communist experiment. No doubt it was an exciting experiment that seemed practical to the worker and visionary to the academic. Communism failed because, like its current acolytes, it misunderstood freedom. It did not understand that exterior freedom is a consequence of interior freedom.
Freedom is the first need of the soul before it is a need for the body. Communism was reductionist; it reduced the human being to a body to be fed, kept warm and amused. It did not understand that without the soul there is no justification for freedom. It could never understand that God alone is the guarantor of freedom. Few New Zealanders seem to understand but there are but only two visions possible in life, albeit many versions of each. There is the old Western vision of God and humanity and humanity’s relationship to God. That is now passing away from us to be nurtured in more fertile soil.
The vision of the God who is not there will soon be force-fed to us here in Aotearoa. Without God the human mind alone possesses the necessary creative intelligence to rule the world. We are now experiencing the reverse of what happened in third-century Rome. The absolute power of the state gave way to the new faith; Christianity and its declaration that the state is answerable to God. It’s been a mixed bag and a bit of a mess from time to time but it’s only in the past few decades that God has been banished from the public square.
The historical and theological irony should be obvious. Same-sex marriage is the consequence and symbol of that banishment because it is in harmony with the new religion. Marriage, an institution shaped by nature and reinforced by history, will become the product of social evolution as soon as same-sex marriage becomes law. Natural marriage once based on real sexual difference is to become a bastard child of the state. So we can make marriage what we like. No longer will it make us.
Marriage which was once a basic institution of civil society will become a contract between any two people for their assumed bliss and benefit. It will have very little to do with the protection of children or social order. Children will be trophies rather than the cement of inter-generational connection. It is not that natural marriage is essentially a religious phenomenon.
Marriage transcends religion and politics but not, it would seem human desire to manipulate to its own short-sighted end. And that’s the problem. That desire which has become a demand makes it necessary for the state to legally redefine marriage. The state cannot resist. Having lost the foundation it discovered in the third century it has become an authority yielding to the demands of fashion and relevance.

A friend sent me a recap of this mornings beautiful funeral service for Margaret Thatcher. How fitting that they read from Ephesians 6:10-18 imploring us to put on “the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Certainly Margaret Thatcher wore such armor in her many battles.

It is so very sad that in this sensitive time of needing to show respect for humanity in general and for “the good guys” in particular our White House did not even send an official envoy to her funeral. Salt in the wound is learning that Senator Menendez, who was recently in the news because of allegations of corruption and even possibly a prostitution scandal, gutted the Senate Resolution honoring Mrs. Thatcher’s world changing achievements. So very sad. Not only is this an insult to our British allies, it’s an insult to women.

Margaret Thatcher admirably never styled herself as a woman leader. She regarded herself as simply a leader, and got the job done regardless of her sex. But the fact remains that she was the most important female leader of the 20th century and will be remembered as one of the most important leaders of all time. Where is the outrage from American feminists at the obvious official snub of this iconic woman who was one of our country’s most loyal allies? (I guess maybe the American sisterhood is too busy at the moment trying to enforce the media blackout of that Philadelphia mass-murderer’s trial for killing our youngest sisters in the womb.)

Margaret Thatcher was the epitome of everything feminists claim they support – a self-made woman who rose to power on her own merits without the patronage of any man. It’s time these liberal hypocrites showed her and women in general the same respect conservatives have all along. It’s disgraceful that America’s politicians snubbed her achievements, as Mrs. Thatcher helped secure our own union while setting a mighty example for women around the world. Like all great leaders, she belongs to the ages now, and I trust that time will only burnish the Iron Lady’s shining legacy when all these petty slights are long forgotten.

Celebrating "Hillary Is 44" A Wonderful PUMA Site;We May Meet In A Battle Of Ideas & May The Best Woman (Palin) Win!

UPDATE:Today (Friday 19th April) Is Hillary is 44's Birthday (although she is not 44 but the big 40).Welcome all "Big Pink" people. As Churchill said "The enemy of  my enemy is my friend"

I really really love the "Hillary is 44" site. I see the site as a sort of reversed mirror image of my Palin4President2106 site as we both support a person who has been pilloried by the media/misogynists/loonies and the Democratic Party.

I respect honest debate, and highly prize encountering pure passion, no matter where it comes from if it supports a legitimate, ethical and sane point of view. "Hillary is 44" meets all those criteria and then some. The contrast between the small and narrow minded Hillary can do no wrong, anti-Palin, ultra-leftist Taylor Marsh is striking

"Hillary is 44" is different from me/my site in the level of pure passion. She lays into all and sundry-Biden/Martin O'Malley/Michelle Obama/current leftist darling Elizabeth Warren, but most of all her absolute bete noire President Obama. I take a more sedate style into my Palin support, but the depths are no less deeper than hers I believe, and perhaps we suit our audiences better with mine perhaps having more of a religious emphasis in their world-view.

An example of this laying into can be found at a recent post "The Madness Of Hillary Clinton 2016". I won't reproduce any of it it can be found HERE as to do so would take away from the blunderbuss or cannon effect and the readers enjoyment. "Hillary is 44" in full sail is a wonder and joy to behold.

It will immediately become apparent to the visitor that President Obama is the villain of the piece and, as I read it, only the election of Hillary will reset the Democratic Party and America back to its centrist, co-operative course. That there is a massive sense of loss and righteous grievance at the site is obvious, and no detail as to how Hillary was robbed of her presidency and who did it is spared.

I believe we share a common  bond in both reflecting on the terrible injustice done to both Clinton and Palin as women, and the backstabbing done to them by their respective "support" teams during and subsequent to their campaigns.

For Hillary is 44, there is the concern that a Clinton run will be sabotaged by the Obama inheritance, the country being in such a poor state presumably in 2016 that Hillary will be destroyed politically by Obama for a second time.

I have found the site to be supportive of Palin on a number of occasions, as have other PUMA sites been, and have the feeling that should Palin run, and Hilary doesn't, that the site will support Palin as a person of unwavering ethics.

If Hillary and Palin do run, a prospect I thoroughly look forwards to as it would be a campaign of ideas and complete contrasts which is absolutely to be welcomed, I would also enjoy the philosophical battle with "Hillary is 44"-and may the best woman of the two, i.e. Palin, win!

N.B. I supported Hillary through the primary campaigns
and if she had won the nomination and Palin was not on the GOP ticket would have voted for her. In 2016 if Palin is not the nominee, and Hillary is the Dem's I will vote only down ticket GOP no matter who the GOP nominee is. As much as I respect Hillary the pro-life and religious aspect of Palin's life and philosophy is the supreme factor for me which precludes my supporting Clinton.

My son arranged 30th birthday treat for one of his condor charges at The San Diego Zoo.Tastefully arranged rats/mice Yum!

Is 24 Consecutive Years Of A Democrat In The White House The Acceptable Price Of The Demise Of Leftist Media Like Wonkette?

The election to the presidency of a junior senator with no foreign policy experience, no major domestic policy achievement, an association with a felon, initiated into politics by a Weatherman, an admitted drug user in his youth, a member of a church, (where he saw nothing of such ravings in 20 years) whose Pastor was raving, was utterly improbable.

Under normal circumstances the idea of his election would have not only been impossible, especially with Hillary Clinton as the presumptive nominee, but laughable.

Only the most extraordinary of circumstances, in this case the utterly abysmal war policy of the previous administration, and a conspiratorial "Journolist" media in tow in slobbering obeisance, made such an otherwise rise to power possible.

The reality is that President G.W. Bush, was the major factor in making candidate Obama's election possible, as I set out in a brilliant analysis of the fall of the conservative ethos in America

On Tuesday November 2nd 2004, President G.W. Bush was re-elected by more than three million votes than his Democratic Party opponent John Kerry received, with Bush winning nearly 51% of the vote.

President Bush carried 31 states, and the GOP won a 30 seat majority in the House, and picked up four seats in the Senate to have a a 9 seat majority 55 to 44, The Republicans also had 28 state governorships, as well as there being a conservative majority in the Supreme Court.

If there ever was a time when it could be truly said "America is a center-right country", it was on election night 2004. The GOP was seen as the party of economic stability, of a prosperous, broadly contented America, and the rock of security in the face of the radical Islamic terrorist threat.

Election night 2008, just four years later, it was all gone.

Not only has this disaster for conservatives punished them, and the country, with eight years of morally regressive leftism, but it has set the scene for a minimum of 28 straight years of a Democratic presidencies.

Not that that matters very much as regards policy, as with the GOP certain to control either the House or Senate or both for substantial periods, little in the way of radical leftist economics or infringements on personal liberty can be effected. As regards foreign policy, with the end of the Iraq and Afghani wars, there is little to be exercised about.

It is in the only thing that that really matters, and can be affected by a presidency, the moral ethos of the country, that the prospect of 28 years of a leftist/Hollywood/media/Gay agenda will be a concern to conservatives.

There is, unfortunately  a mechanism now win place which will lead to this "permanent Democratic majority".

The "It's time for a Black to be president" meme need not have had any force in 2008, just as it didn't when Jesse Jackson was running for president. Only the disastrous Bush administration through its wars gave the theme momentum. Even then, it took an economic cataclysm just before the election to ensure candidate Obama's victory. Once elected, the concept became an integral part of the prevailing mood of the country.

In 2016 the next meme will be "It is time for a woman" and with Hillary as the standard bearer for the Dem's she would have every chance of winning. Then, as sure as night follows day, it will be "It is time for a Gay or lesbian to be president " (or even "a Gay and lesbian ticket" whichever way round it works).

At that point, after 24 years of leftist "it's time" candidates, the well will have, thankfully run dry. I don't consider any "it's time for an Hispanic" (or whatever ethnic minority is flavor du jour) as the GOP has a stable of such, and either party can run whatever minority takes the public's fancy at that time.

Is their any saving grace for conservatives from this disastrous scenario? There is a small grace, with which one has to make do with scraps in the light of overwhelming circumstances. All the radical leftist blogs which bubbled up from the sub stratum, some from the deepest hell during the Bush years will finally have exhausted their hate, seen their agenda in place, and their audience having advanced into sensible middle age with mortgages and the like.

But under the kinder gentle new editorship of Wonkette in the eventual conservative environment maybe, just maybe, there will be a place for traditional political social comment and political satire of the Shelley Berman/Mort Sahl type.

But conservatives will be watching, and woe betide Wonkette if it strays into the world of Daily Kos, Crooks and Liars and the "journolist" conspiracy again.
